Mission

The employees of the Utility Systems Department are dedicated to leading the water and wastewater utility industry by protecting our environment and natural water resources, relying on innovative operating and maintenance processes, and providing the highest possible level of service and support to more than 62,000 customers.

Organization

Utility Director Jesus A. Merejo oversees nine operating divisions:

• Instrumentation and Controls
• Laboratory and Compliance
• Mapping
• Warehouse and Procurement
• Wastewater Treatment Facilities
• Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection

Customer Service/Billing

The Utility Systems Department also funds the Customer Service/Billing Division, a work unit that is managed by the city’s Finance Director/Treasurer.

Questions about new residential service, suspending or terminating service, or monthly billings should be directed to the Customer Service/Billing Division at (772) 871-5330.

Administration/Operations

Questions regarding the Utility Systems’s administration or operations should be directed to our switchboard that is manned 24-hours a day at (772) 873-6400.
