Welcome to the Utility Systems Department

Mission:  The 260 employees of the Utility Systems Department are dedicated to leading the water and wastewater utility industry by protecting our environment and natural water resources, relying on innovative operating and maintenance processes, and providing the highest possible level of service and support to our more than 62,000 customers.

Utility Director, Jesus A. Merejo, oversees nine distinct operating divisions: Engineering; Instrumentation & Controls; Water Distribution & Wastewater Collections (field operations); Water Treatment Facilities; Wastewater Treatment Facilities; Warehouse & Procurement; Laboratory & Compliance; Mapping; and Administration/Systems Support.

The Utility also funds the Customer Service/Billing Division, a work unit that is managed by Marcia Dedert, the City’s Finance Director/Treasurer.
