UPDATE ARREST...Port St. Lucie Police investigating burglary to Bayshore Pawn and Alter Arms Gun Shop
On April 18, 2018, Port St. Lucie Police Detectives arrested 22 year old Javin Anthony Oglesby (900 block of Flood Rd, Ft. Pierce) on the charges of 2counts of burglary, dealing in stolen property, giving false information to a pawn broker, and violation of probation warrant.
Following up on the April 16, 2018 burglaries to Alter Arms Gun Shop and Bayshore Pawn, Port St. Lucie detectives received information that Oglesby was responsible for the crimes. Detectives were able to verify that Oglesby was the same person captured on the surveillance video from the burglary at Bayshore Pawn and the car he was driving was a 2015 black Honda Civic also seen on video. During the investigation detectives also learned that Oglesby gave false information to Elite Pawn broker to pawn two nailer/staple guns that was stolen from the Bayshore Pawn Burglary.
On April 18, 2018, detectives received information from St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office that one of their deputies located Oglesby in Fort Pierce. Detectives went to that location and located Oglesby at an address on Midway Road. Oglesby was arrested and interviewed by the detective working the case. Oglesby admitted to the burglaries and told police that he placed the stolen items behind a residence on SW Aledo and SW Rosser Boulevard. Detectives went to that location and recovered the stolen property, which included the boxes of ammunition, gun magazines, and an upper stock of a rifle. The guitar that was stolen was not recovered due to the fact that Oglesby put it on the side of the road and was picked up by Waste Pro as trash.
Oglesby was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.
