Post Date:01/17/2019
On January 16, 2019, Port St Lucie Police arrested a 29-year-old male for attempted murder, aggravated battery, two counts aggravated assault with deadly weapon, burglary with assault, and criminal mischief, after he rammed his car into ex-girlfriend's house and then stabbed ex-girlfriend's father.

On January 16, 2019 at 9:30 p.m., Port St. Lucie Police went to S.W. Bartell Avenue for reports of a stabbing. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was on a date with his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend (of which they have a 9-month-old child in common). During the date, the couple began to argue and the ex-girlfriend asked to go home. The suspect dropped his ex-girlfriend off at her home. The ex-girlfriend entered the home as the man left the area. A short time later the suspect returned and drove his car into the front double doors of the home, ultimately breaking into the house.

As the suspect entered the home, his ex-girlfriend and her mother crawled out of a bedroom window to flee the house. Left inside the home was the ex-girlfriend's father and 9-month-old boy who was asleep. The suspect attacked the ex-girlfriend's father and stabbed him in the left arm. After the stabbing, the suspect left the home.

St. Lucie County Fire/Rescue responded to the scene then transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a large laceration and stab wound. The victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover from his injury.

The male suspect was subsequently arrested outside the victim's home and was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.
