Port St. Lucie Police Detective Arrested After Domestic Dispute

On January 21, 2019, Port St. Lucie Police arrested a 43-year-old male for misdemeanor battery after he was involved in an altercation with his wife.

On January 21, 2019 at around 2:20 am, Port St. Lucie Police went to the home of an off-duty detective for reports of a domestic disturbance. Once on scene officers learned that the off-duty detective and his wife had been engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Police learned that during the physical part of the altercation, off-duty detective slapped his wife several times before punching her in the face.

The off-duty detective's wife sustained a laceration to her lip; however, she refused rescue at the scene.

The off-duty L.E.O. was taken into custody and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail where he was later released on $1,500.00 bond. He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
