City of PSL Advisory #17 on COVID-19
PORT ST. LUCIE – The City continues to adapt to the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 virus. As of 5 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2020, the City of Port St. Lucie had these updates:
City Manager’s Weekly Video Update: Port St. Lucie City Manager Russ Blackburn’s latest weekly video update is now available to watch here.
COVID-19 Testing: Port St. Lucie has received more than 1,400 COVID-19 test kits from the State of Florida through St. Lucie County. Thanks to this collaborative effort, the City is now partnering with Treasure Coast Medical Associates, Inc. to provide these tests to residents at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. A drive-thru mobile testing site will be set-up at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center Monday, May 4, and May 5, 2020. Residents of all ages may be tested and do not need to be exhibiting symptoms. More details can be found here.
Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan: Governor DeSantis announced Phase I of the "Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan" to Re-Open Florida at a press conference in Tallahassee on April 30, 2020. Full details of this phased plan can be found at: www.cityofpsl.com/covid19.
Restaurants: During phase 1 of the Governor’s Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step Plan, the City of Port St Lucie is allowing restaurants to have temporary outdoor seating in parking spaces adjacent to their restaurant. The temporary outdoor seating cannot prevent ADA access to the building or sidewalk or the travel lanes within the parking lot for vehicles. For more information on the requirements for temporary outdoor seating, please contact Elijah Wooten, Business Navigator at (772) 873-6374
Parks & Recreation: Enjoy the outdoors responsibly! Select Parks & Recreation facilities and amenities reopened today, Friday, May 1, 2020 for public use, including The Saints Golf Course, McCarty Ranch Preserve Campgrounds, picnic pavilions, and some outdoor sports courts. CDC Social distancing guidelines are to be adhered to at City facilities and parks. More details can be found here.
Waste Pro Reminder: All Waste Pro services are operational. Please have all waste out for pickup no later than 7am on your scheduled collection day. For your convenience, waste may be set out the night before your collection day. If customers experience a delay in collection, please contact our Waste Pro Liaison at (772) 873-6317. Customers may also text questions or concerns for trash pickup to (772) 202-5150. Waste Pro and the City are asking residents not to throw away cans or buckets of paint unless the paint is completely dry, and the lids are removed. You can put fresh kitty litter in the cans or buckets to help dry out the paint. Additionally, there are products available for purchase at home improvement stores that will cause the paint to harden quicker.
Face Coverings: The City strongly encourages all residents to wear a face covering while out in public.
