Why: The City of Port St. Lucie has canceled its annual Freedomfest event, which traditionally includes the ever-popular fireworks display, one of Port St. Lucie's largest and most watched events. This cancelation is a precaution to prevent the gathering of large crowds amid the coronavirus pandemic. This year's virtual Freedomfest Fireworks Display will take place online and on television as a prerecorded compilation of the brightest and biggest fireworks from previous years. We encourage residents to celebrate Independence Day safely and tune into this virtual broadcast. Please remember these fireworks are not happening live.
