About City University

The City of Port St. Lucie’s City University is a free nine-week program designed to help residents learn about their City government. Participants will learn about a wide variety of topics like how decisions are made, how City funds are allocated and how departments operate. Plus, you’ll discover the current status and future plans for Port St. Lucie’s development and proposed projects. You’ll meet residents with shared interests in the City, participate in discussions, learn how to interact and volunteer with the community and tour City facilities. Overall you will become a more informed and involved citizen.

City University is offered twice a year in the Spring (beginning the first week of April) and in the Fall (beginning the first week of September). The sessions occur every Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., for 9 consecutive weeks, at various City locations.

The program is free but, you must be living or working in Port St. Lucie when you register and commit to a minimum attendance of 7 out of the 9 sessions. At the end of the program participants will receive a certificate of completion. This program has been developed for adults. However, high school juniors and seniors may apply with a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
