Free Therapeutic Bereavement Camp for Youth

Camp Kangaroo, offered by AccentCare and fully funded by the Seasons Hospice Foundation, is a free therapeutic bereavement camp designed for children and teens ages 5–17 who have experienced the death of someone close within the past three years. This special program provides a supportive space where youth can connect with peers, receive age‑appropriate grief education and participate in engaging camp activities.

Led by caring professionals and trained AccentCare Hospice volunteers, Camp Kangaroo helps participants:

Understand and express grief in healthy ways
Build friendships with others who have experienced similar loss
Learn coping skills through structured therapeutic group sessions
Honor their loved one while gaining tools to move forward

Before camp, each child meets with a clinician to ensure the experience is personalized for their needs. Program themes include understanding grief, coping with emotions like anger and sorrow, memories and remembrance and moving forward after loss.

Dates: Sept. 26–27, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
