Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program Grant

The City of Port St. Lucie is seeking public input on proposed grant applications for the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program. This program makes up to $400 million available to communities impacted by Hurricanes Idalia, Debby, Helene, Milton, and the 2024 North Florida tornadoes.

Funding is provided through HUD’s Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program to help support long-term recovery from storm damage sustained in 2023–2024.

Proposed projects

• Oak Hammock Watershed Improvements – Design and construction of ponds and baffle boxes to improve water quality.
• Veterans Memorial Water Quality Phases III–V – New stormwater treatment areas and structures to improve water quality before discharge into the North Fork.
• Hogpen Slough (HPS-60) Project – Stormwater treatment, structure replacement, and technology upgrades to improve water quality and reliability.
• Prineville Water Treatment Facility Generator Replacement – Installation of a larger, more reliable backup generator and supporting equipment.
• Glades Wastewater Treatment Facility Generator Replacement – Upgrade to a 2,000 kW generator with new transfer systems and equipment.
• Westport Wastewater Treatment Facility Generator Replacement – Replacement of two generator units to ensure reliable plant operations during emergencies.
