In an effort to make sure families are safer around water, St. Lucie County’s Parks & Recreation staff will host a free Water Safety Day on Saturday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ravenswood Pool, located at 400 SW Ravenswood Lane.
This event features free admission into the pool and splash pad, water safety demonstrations and tips, along with free pizza and drinks.
According to the Florida Department of Health, there were 105 fatal drownings of children across the Sunshine State in 2024 - the highest number of child drownings in the United States.
