Code Compliance Open House

What: The City’s Code Compliance Division will host an Open House to help residents learn about recent updates to vacant lot, recreational vehicle, utility trailer and commercial vehicle ordinances. Code Compliance staff will be available on site to answer questions about the revisions and general code standards.

When: Thursday, Oct. 1 from 6-7 p.m., with a short presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Port St. Lucie City Hall, Council Chambers, 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd

Why: A presentation about the updated Code of Ordinances will clarify that vehicles may no longer be stored on vacant lots, and recreational vehicles and utility trailers must be kept free of mold and mildew, with utility trailers also limited to a maximum length of 20 feet.

For commercial vehicles, box trucks are now prohibited, an exception has been added for dually trucks with standard beds and the previous six-wheel exemption process has been removed. This is intended to modernize outdated provisions, correct minor inconsistencies and ensure clearer, more consistent regulations across property and vehicle standards.
