New Floresta Drive construction closure begins Sept. 15

What: Beginning Monday, Sept. 15 the Floresta Drive closure will be extended to between SE Calmoso Drive and SE Evergreen Terrace.

Detour signs are established on Crosstown Parkway and Prima Vista Boulevard to notify motorists of the closures, and detour signs are in place to route drivers safely through the area.

When: Sept. 15, 2025 through September 2026.

Why: Northbound and southbound lanes for Floresta Drive will be closed to allow for installation of drainage structures and pipes, as well as road, sidewalk and curb construction.

The Floresta Drive project provides an enhanced two-lane roadway featuring landscaping, lighting, sidewalks and bicycle lanes. In March 2025, the City began work on the third and final phase of the project from Crosstown Parkway to Prima Vista Boulevard. Construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2028.
