The City of Port St. Lucie was recently recognized by the Florida Local Government Information Systems Association (FLGISA) for its innovative efforts to enhance safety, improve efficiency and create a better experience for residents and visitors at City Hall.

The recognition highlights a collaborative project led by the Information Technology Department, with strategic support from the City Manager’s Office and in partnership with the Police and Facilities departments. The initiative focused on making City Hall safer, more efficient and easier to navigate for everyone who walks through its doors.

By bringing together expertise from multiple departments, the City implemented new technology and processes that support public safety, streamline visitor experiences and help staff respond more effectively to day-to-day operational needs. That included advanced safety-screening technology and a visitor management system that allows visitors to quickly check in.

The improvements have made it easier for residents to access services, attend meetings and visit City Hall while helping employees work more efficiently behind the scenes. The technology also provides data on peak foot-traffic periods that can help inform staffing needs.

The City was recognized at the FLGISA Technology Excellence and Achievement Awards, reinforcing Port St. Lucie’s commitment to finding practical, innovative ways to deliver exceptional services for the community.
