The City of Port St. Lucie has been recognized as one of the Treasure Coast’s “Best Places to Work” – the 18th year the City has earned this distinction.
Port St. Lucie Human Resources staff accepted the award on behalf of the City at the 25th annual St. Lucie County Best Places to Work Awards on Sept. 25. This year also marked the first time the award expanded from St. Lucie County to include the entire Treasure Coast.
“Being recognized as a Best Place to Work for for nearly two decades is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the people who make our organization what it is," said Human Resources Director Natalie Cabrera. “Our employees are at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition celebrates their commitment, teamwork and dedication to serving our community. Being a great place to work goes far beyond offering benefits; it means continually investing in our employees and striving every day to make our workplace even better.”
The HR & Business Leader's Council of Florida commissioned Personnel Dynamics Consulting to calculate turnover rates, growth percentages, employee development spending, promotion percentages, insurance packages and retirement plans, a total of 37 different measurements to determine the Treasure Coast’s Best Places to Work.
This program is free to all Treasure Coast employers. Participating companies were required to answer a 40-question survey about their organization.
The City of Port St. Lucie was one of nine employers on the Treasure Coast that were honored with the award this year. The HR & Business Leader's Council of Florida cited these reasons the City, with 1,411 employees, is considered one of the Treasure Coast’s Best Places to Work:
- A workplace culture that supports career growth, health, continued learning and overall employee well‑being.
- A comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, retirement and insurance options, wellness resources and access to an Employee Health Clinic.
- Opportunities for flexible work schedules, professional development, tuition assistance, fitness programs and a nationally recognized orientation program, Keys to the City.
- Investment in employees at every career stage through hundreds of annual training opportunities, educational assistance and well‑being initiatives.
- Strong collaboration with community partners to connect local job seekers with employment opportunities, highlighted by an annual Community Job Fair that drew more than 1,000 participants in 2025.
Together, these programs reflect the City's commitment to supporting its employees, developing talent and building a workplace where people can grow and serve the community.
