City of Port St. Lucie launches Freedomfest 5K Walk/Run

Freedomfest 5K Run Walk

What: The City of Port St. Lucie invites the community to kick off Independence Day at the Freedomfest 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, July 4. Participants are encouraged to lace up their running shoes, wear red, white and blue and join this first-ever City event.

When: Saturday, July 4. Race begins at 7 a.m.

Where: MIDFLORIDA Event Center front plaza, 9221 SE Event Center Place

Event Details:

5:45 a.m.: Registration opens

5:45-6:45 a.m.: Free parking on site. After 6:45 a.m., participants will be redirected to park at the Publix Plaza for the remainder of the event.

6:40 a.m.: Warm up

7 a.m.: Race begins

8 a.m.: Post-race festivities and awards ceremony. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, along with age‑group awards for both.

Participants can register online, and all runners must complete a waiver during sign‑up. Registration fees are listed below:

  • Through June 14: $35
  • June 15-20: $40
  • June 21-July 3: $45
  • Race day: $60

Bibs and T-shirts can be picked up Friday, July 3, from 3:30-6 p.m. at Fleet Feet, 11586 SW Village Parkway. Race‑day pickup also will be available on site.
