July 4th holiday does not affect City’s solid waste schedule this year

As Independence Day approaches, the City of Port St. Lucie is reminding residents that there will be no changes to the solid waste collection schedule during the holiday week.

• Monday, June 29 - Friday, July 3: Regular collection schedule. 
• Saturday, July 4: No garbage collection, as Saturdays are not part of the regular collection schedule.
• Monday, July 6: Regular collection schedule resumes. 

This year, there are only two holidays that affect Port St. Lucie’s solid waste service, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

After Independence Day celebrations, please soak used fireworks in water, then securely bag them and place them in the black garbage cart to help prevent fires.
