Volunteer Tax Assistance Available for St. Lucie County Residents

Trained volunteers with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.
VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:
- People who generally make $69,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers
Assistance will be offered at the following locations
Port St. Lucie Community Center
2195 SE Airoso Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34984
- Feb. 9 – April 8
- ***CLOSED on Feb. 16 for Presidents Day***
- Open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Available to residents earning less than $69,000 annually.
- Walk-ins only.

- Feb. 7 – April 11
- Open on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 PM
- Available to residents earning less than $69,000 annually.
- Walk-ins only

What to bring
A list of potential paperwork includes:
- Proof of identification
- Social Security numbers
- Birth dates of family members
- Property tax bills
- All income documents, including wage and earning statement(s) W-2, W-2G, 1099-R from all employers
- Interest and dividend statements from banks (forms 1099-Div)
- A copy of last year’s federal and state returns (if available)
- Health care expenses
- Donation receipts, bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit
