City of PSL receives Budget Award for 36th consecutive year

The City of Port St. Lucie has earned the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Award Presentation for Fiscal Year 2024-25. This marks the 36^th consecutive year the City has received this award – recognition of its commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

To achieve the award, a government entity must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as a financial plan, as an operations guide and as a communications tool for the public.

The City of Port St. Lucie first earned the GFOA Distinguished Budget Award Presentation for Fiscal Year 1990 and has upheld this standard of excellence for 36 consecutive years through Fiscal Year 2024-25.

In addition to receiving the award, the City's budget earned two additional recognitions:

• Special Strategic Goals and Strategies Recognition: Awarded for receiving “outstanding”
  ratings for providing a coherent statement of organization-wide strategic goals and strategies addressing long-term concerns and issues.
• Special Capital Program Recognition: Given for receiving “outstanding” ratings for the presentation of capital expenditures, projects and a multiyear capital plan.
