The City of Port St. Lucie Parks and Recreation Department is completing a transition plan for existing parks and facilities, in accordance with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is seeking public input.

An ADA transition plan is a document that outlines how to remove physical barriers to provide access to programs and services offered to the public. As part of that process, the City will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 SE Airoso Blvd. This meeting is also being offered via Zoom for those who are unable to attend in person.

The meeting will include a review of ADA requirements, share images of opportunities for improvement at current City of Port St. Lucie parks and facilities, and discuss findings and best practices from other parks and recreation departments. Finally, attendees can share information about their access priorities that will help shape the transition plan.

In addition to the in-person meetings, a brief online survey will be available to collect feedback for those who are unable to attend the meeting. The survey will be open starting the week of June 17 and will conclude on July 12. The survey can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/r/PSLADA.

Individuals interested in attending the meeting are asked to RSVP. A sign language interpreter will be available at the meeting.
