Celebrate Park and Recreation Month with fun activities

Exciting events, programs and promotions will take place throughout July as the City of Port St. Lucie celebrates National Park and Recreation Month.

The City’s Parks & Recreation Department is hosting events all month that are designed to engage residents, highlight the value of parks and showcase ongoing recreational offerings.

Residents of all ages are invited to participate in a variety of activities throughout July:

Lucie’s Summer Adventure Scavenger Hunt, July 17–22, at Pioneer Park during playground hours of 9 a.m.-9 p.m.: Families can explore Pioneer Park using QR-coded clues to find hidden summer-themed items. Participants will be entered into a prize drawing to win a beach bucket filled with summer toys. Participants will take a picture of each item and submit their photos online after the scavenger hunt is completed. This scavenger hunt is free.

Free Zumba class, Wednesday, July 9, at Port St. Lucie Community Center from 7-8 p.m.: Get moving with instructor Reyna during a high-energy Zumba session, open to all fitness levels. No registration is needed. Just drop in and dance!

GeoTour, Let’s Go Geocaching throughout July at Minsky Gym: Adventurers can register for just $5 to locate six hidden caches in City parks and earn rewards. Registration opens July 1 at Minsky Gym.

Youth and adult summer programs: Residents can also enjoy basketball leagues, flag football, art camps, wrestling, monthly garage sales and even a Build PSL Minecraft competition! Fees may apply.
