2025 drop savers poster winners with council

What: St. Lucie County students in grades K-12 were invited to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea in the Drop Savers poster contest.

When: Winners were recognized on April 28 at Port St. Lucie City Council Meeting.

Who: Port St. Lucie Utility Systems, in conjunction with Florida Section American Water Works Association (FSAWWA).

Why: The contest teaches elementary-aged school children, and reminds middle and high school-aged teens, about the importance of water conservation. A long-range education and awareness program can help in water conservation.

Details: The winners from each grade level were selected and recognized by the Mayor and City Council. A total of 55 St. Lucie County students entered the annual Drop Savers water conservation poster contest. Entries were received from students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The entries came from seven different schools, including a homeschool group.

Winners included:

  • 1st Grade: Katherine Schiera, Homeschool
  • 2nd Grade: Brandon Hise, Savanna Ridge Elementary
  • 3rd Grade: Juan Karlos Dominguez, Savanna Ridge Elementary
  • 4th Grade: Penelope Reyes, Rivers Edge Elementary
  • 5th Grade: Jocelynn Philistin, Renaissance Charter School
  • 6th Grade: Rylan Halpin, Creative Arts Academy of St. Lucie
  • 7th Grade: Anaiya Elizabeth Scott, Renaissance Charter School
  • 8th Grade: Darius Charran, Renaissance Charter School
  • 9th Grade: Brandon Cabrera, St. Lucie West Centennial
  • 10th Grade: Tienshi Chow, St. Lucie West Centennial
  • 11th Grade: Paige Hager, St. Lucie West Centennial
  • 12th Grade: Gleidi Mercedes Picado, St. Lucie West Centennial
