In a defining moment for Floridaʼs Treasure Coast, SūDā Investments, in collaboration with Atlas Restaurant Group, proudly broke ground on The Grove at The Port District, a visionary culinary and community destination that is poised to become the catalytic converter transforming the social scene of Port St. Lucie forever.

This landmark Public–Private Partnership (PPP) with the City of Port St. Lucie stands as a model for how thoughtful collaboration between the public and private sectors can reimagine the urban experience — merging great food, culture, sustainability, and community connection along a beautifully revived St. Lucie River.

Reflecting the vision of the Port St. Lucie City Council and residents, The Grove at the Port District will serve as the heartbeat of the Cityʼs waterfront revival — bringing the river back into the daily life of Port St. Lucieʼs residents and creating a new civic identity grounded in connection, creativity, and joy.

“The Grove at the Port District is more than a project — itʼs a movement,” said Gaurav Butani, Founder of SūDā Investments.

“Weʼre bringing back the joy of eating outdoors, in a convivial atmosphere where friends and families gather, new people meet, and community life flourishes by the river. The Cityʼs vision and commitment to its residents have made it possible to integrate the beauty of the St. Lucie River into how people truly live, socialize, and celebrate together. We extend our deepest gratitude to Mayor Shannon Martin, Vice Mayor Jolien Caraballo, the Port St. Lucie City Council, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), and the incredible City staff and departments whose dedication and collaboration brought this partnership to life.”

City leaders are thrilled to witness the realization of this important element for the Port District.

“The Grove at The Port District represents the vision, character, and vibrancy that make Port St. Lucie such a special place,” said Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin. “With each step forward, weʼre creating a destination that celebrates our history, our natural beauty, and the community spirit that defines the Heart of the Treasure Coast.”

A Partnership Rooted in Shared Vision and Purpose

Developed in partnership with Atlas Restaurant Group — the creators of acclaimed destinations such as The Choptank, Loch Bar, and Ouzo Bay — The Grove will feature a dynamic mix of restaurants, cafés, and culinary kiosks designed to revive the spirit of outdoor dining and social gathering.

Guests will enjoy an open-air waterfront environment offering diverse dining experiences — from artisanal local food and coffee concepts to rotating seasonal kitchens and riverside lounges. Every element has been curated to foster connection — a place for laughter, discovery, and shared human experience.

“Atlas is proud to partner with SūDā and the City of Port St. Lucie on this visionary project,ˮ said Alex Smith, Founder and CEO of Atlas Restaurant Group. “The Grove will redefine how residents and visitors experience the city — a destination where people come together to celebrate and rediscover the joy of community on the water.ˮ

Sustainability at the Heart of The Grove

The projectʼs commitment to sustainability is foundational — integrating energy-efficient design, green roofs, water conservation, and local materials while celebrating the natural beauty of the riverfront.

“The Grove is about creating places that nourish people and planet,ˮ said Saniya Mittal, Head of Strategy & Sustainability at SūDā Investments and Project Executive, The Grove. “The sophistication lies in integrating sustainability into the commercial engine — a $15 million public–private partnership designated an economic-priority project for the City of Port St. Lucie, projected to create approximately 200 jobs and welcome approximately 400,000 visitors annually.ˮ

About The Grove at The Port District

Envisioned, as Port St. Lucieʼs premier riverfront dining destination, The Grove will include:

  • Four multi-brand culinary quads
  • A central tiki pavilion and rooftop bar blending Japanese-temple and coastal-Caribbean design influences
  • Open-air courtyards, green roofs, and a boardwalk promenade along the St. Lucie River
  • Live music, farmers' markets, and cultural programming year-round
  • A design ethos rooted in sustainability, biophilic architecture, and community well-being

At its core, The Grove is about reconnection — between people and place, nature and nourishment, community and creativity. It stands as a cornerstone of the Port District Master Redevelopment Plan, led by the CRA, transforming the Cityʼs waterfront into a vibrant civic and social heart.
