Join Lucie’s Winter Quest, a family-friendly scavenger hunt inside the playground at Pioneer Park! Participants of all ages will explore the playground, solving rhymes and riddles while incorporating fun fitness exercises and counting. Guided by Lucie, the lovable tortoise mascot, this magical winter adventure will delight and inspire all who join.

When

  • The scavenger hunt begins Friday, December 13 – Tuesday, December 17, 2024
  • Park Hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Photo entries must be submitted by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
  • Winners of the festive gift basket drawing will be announced on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Four winners will be selected!

Prizes

Complete the scavenger hunt and enter the drawing for a chance to win a festive gift basket filled with holiday treats and goodies!

How to play

  1. Look for event details on the City’s website, social media pages, flyers at the Community Center, and the electronic sign at Pioneer Park.
  2. Start the Quest:
    • See the rhymes below to find festive items and complete optional fitness challenges.
    • Take photos of your discoveries – no exercise videos required!
  3. Submit Your Entry:

Rhymes of items to find

  1. "In a snowy landscape, where the cold winds blow, a penguin is hiding in soft snow, do some jumping jacks to warm up your day, then waddle like him, come out and play!"
  2. "Two little men, so merry and bright, do five big hops, bringing pure delight. Look by Harmony Hideaway’s warm, sweet glow, where their jolly smiles and laughter will flow!"
  3. "Snowmen so cheerful, standing in a row, do 3 spins and then you’ll know. Count to three and look around, by the swings, they can be found!"
  4. "Four little elves, with laughter and glee, do 4 claps together, as happy as can be! In the workshop, they’re crafting with care, spreading holiday magic everywhere!"
  5. "Sweet and striped, they’re hard to see, do 5 high-knees for a candy spree. Search near Pioneer Perch, so bright, where festive treasures are in sight!"
  6. "Little shovels for snow so bright, do 6 squats to find them right. Near the sandbox, where kids like to play, the shovels are hiding, come find them today!"
  7. "Snowflakes twirl, so light and bright, do 7 toe touches and then reach their height. Look in the trees, where they gently sway, delicate and soft, in winter's display."
  8. "Keep warm hands, so snug and neat, do 8 walking lunges to warm your feet. Look by the bench, where friends meet, the mittens await, so cozy and sweet!"
  9. "Ornaments shining, bright on the tree, do 9 mountain climbers for all to see! Each one tells a story, with colors so bright, bringing joy and magic to the festive night!"
  10. "Stars gleam bright in the winter's delight, make a wish to bring the holidays' light. Count them up in the sky so clear, wish on a star for winter to appear!"
