Families and nature lovers are invited to explore Port St. Lucie parks, connect with neighbors and discover the outdoors through Tales on the Trails: Story Walks in Nature, a free six-session series offered from November through April.

As part of the City’s Naturally PSL: Green Spaces and Places initiative, the program offers nature walks, story readings and community activities for all ages and abilities.

This free series is funded by the Trust for Public Land, On Common Ground grant program to leverage parks and public spaces to strengthen social connections and community.

Each session features a storybook theme led by volunteer storytellers, along with nature-based activities designed by natural resource experts at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS). Activities include forest bathing, nature journaling, litter cleanups and more.

Participants will explore Port St. Lucie parks and trails and end with a community celebration and breakfast. Each registered household receives a book, badge and refreshments at every session, with opportunities for additional community resources. Participants who complete all six sessions will collect all six badges and have a chance to win a hiking gear and adventure backpack package.

The monthly events take place at several Port St. Lucie parks, ending with a community celebration in April. The schedule includes:
