Naturally PSL: Green Spaces & Places

Naturally PSL 2.png

Through Naturally PSL, we are bringing awareness of PSL’s green spaces and places available for the community to enjoy, upcoming projects, and conservation of our natural areas.

We are working to engage residents as well as private, public and nonprofit partners in contributing to land acquisition and green space enhancements.

Naturally PSL is a community-driven initiative inspired by the collective vision of Port St. Lucie residents.

Our Journey

  • At the 2023 Citizen Summit, residents ranked access to nature and neighborhood parks as their top priority.
  • In 2024, the City collaborated with residents at the Citizen Summit to co-design solutions, with our initiative recognized by the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative as one of 40 selected worldwide.
  • Naturally PSL launches at the 2025 Citizen Summit. The initiative includes park and conservation land improvements, the trails map and website, the Environmental Stewardship Awards, the Conservation Corps and Village Green Drive Green Street Festivals.
  • Green spaces public meetings. The City hosted in-person and virtual community meetings to begin the conversation on Monday, May 12, at 6 p.m. A second in-person meeting followed on-site at the specified green space on May 19 at 6 p.m.

Our Progress

  • 744.4 Acres of land designated for development as green spaces and places
  • 198 Acres of city-owned natural preserves, out of a total of 2,940.5 acres of natural areas within city limits
  • 3,909.7 Acres for the McCarty Ranch Preserve, Recreation, and Water Quality Project
  • 41.4 Miles of trails available within city limits, with an additional 20.3 Miles of trails in planning
