St. Lucie County invites residents to learn about proposed improvements to Prima Vista Boulevard at a public workshop on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center, located at 9221 SE Event Center Place.
This will be the second public information session hosted by St. Lucie County’s Public Works Department. Attendees will learn about the current state of the proposed project, which would remove the shared left-turn lane between Airoso Boulevard and U.S. 1 and replace it with a raised median.
The project aims to make the roadway safer by reducing the number of places where vehicles and pedestrians cross paths. This would be accomplished by removing the shared center left-turn lane and replacing it with a raised median with openings that provide for safer controlled turning movements. New landscaping and design features would also make the road feel narrower, encouraging motorists to slow down.
Attendees at a previous information session on April 9 voiced concerns over the changes and expressed opposition to some of the project details. Since then, the project team has made updates to the design based on this feedback. They will share these updates in the upcoming session.
The Oct. 15 meeting is free to attend, but registration is encouraged. Sign up online at: https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/AKDB2m.
