Free, family-friendly fall events return to Port St. Lucie

What: The City of Port St. Lucie invites residents to celebrate the season with a new lineup of fall events. Mark your calendars and join the City for a variety of activities designed for the whole community to enjoy.
When/Where: Drive-Thru Tree Giveaway
Saturday, Sept. 19, 8-10 a.m.
Clover Park
31 Piazza Drive
Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful will hold its biannual tree giveaway as a drive-thru event, where City staff will place trees in residents’ vehicles on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents must show identification to verify Port St. Lucie residency. This season’s Florida-friendly tree varieties include avocado, mango and pigeon plum, also known as coccoloba. Oktoberfest
Saturday, Oct. 3, 5-9 p.m.

Celebrate Oktoberfest with traditional German music with the DeLeon Band, dancing and the wiener dog race. Admission is free. Highlights include a Volkswagen car club showcase, a themed photo booth, ceremonial keg-tapping, a flag presentation, German attire and a lively biergarten, kids zone and marketplace. Authentic German fare and a variety of food trucks and beverages will be available for purchase. Applications are now open for the Port St. Lucie Oktoberfest Wiener Dog Race.
National Night Out Open House

The Port St. Lucie Police Department will host a National Night Out Open House, where attendees will have the opportunity to see presentations from PSLPD units including K9, SWAT, Crime Scene Investigation, Dive Team, Traffic Unit, Drones, Marine Unit and Recruiting.

River Nights is a free, monthly event held on the second Thursday of the month from October through April at the scenic Port District along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Guests can enjoy live music, featuring a variety of genres, and purchase food and drinks from on-site food trucks.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
Saturday, Oct. 10, 8 a.m.-noon

Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful provides residents with a simple, safe way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals and hazardous waste. During the drive-thru drop-off event, residents can remain in their vehicles while City staff unload items at no cost. Identification is required to verify St. Lucie County residents (ID's required). Get ready for three days of autumn excitement at Fall Fun Fest! Enjoy live music, carnival rides, delicious food vendors and the popular Street of Treats trick-or-treating event on Saturday. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the festival. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable canned goods to support the Treasure Coast Food Bank's efforts in helping the local community. The event is free and open to all ages, while carnival ride tickets will be available for purchase during the event.

We invite the community to join us for a heartfelt service honoring those who have served in the United States armed forces. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
