As Thanksgiving approaches, the City reminds residents of changes to the solid waste collection schedule:→ Monday, Nov. 24, through Wednesday, Nov. 26, will be collected as scheduled. → No collection services on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27; landfill is closed.→ Thursday’s customers will be picked up Friday, Nov. 28.→ Friday’s customers will be picked up Saturday, Nov. 29.

The City of Port St. Lucie is launching a new initiative for residents who are passionate about their community and want to cultivate a deeper connection with the City.
The City Ambassador Program empowers graduates of Port St. Lucie’s popular City University to help share important information, engage with the community and support City initiatives. Ambassadors will serve as a bridge between the government and the public, ensuring residents are well informed and their voices heard.
City University graduates interested in becoming a City Ambassador are encouraged to attend an information session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd. RSVP is requested but not required at www.cityofpsl.com/ambassador.
As a City Ambassador, residents will:
City University is a free nine-week course that offers a first-hand look into City operations. Since its first class in 2016, more than 600 residents have participated in the program. In-person sessions are held annually, but there also is an on-demand option available year-round for continuous enrollment. Those interested in becoming a City Ambassador but have not yet participated in the annual City U session can take the online course before applying.
