Mission Statement

The City Clerk's Office is committed to serving the public by striving for excellence in the preparation of agendas and minutes of meetings and in the operation of City Hall's mail center, and by providing complete and accurate information while preserving the records of the city while maintaining a professional level of service in all phases of operation.

Agendas & Minutes

The City Clerk's Office is responsible for the distribution of meeting agendas and providing accurate transcriptions of all meeting minutes for City Council, various boards, committees, and union negotiations.

Copies of transcribed minutes are available approximately one month after the meeting at a cost of 20 cents per double-sided page.

Public Records Services

Public requests for information and research on matters pertaining to the City of Port St. Lucie are processed through the City Clerk's Office, with the exception of Police Department records. For Police Department records please contact the Police Department Records Division at 772-871-5047.

Public Records Requests can be made online. Residents, and the general public, have a right to access Port St. Lucie's "public records," which includes all documents, papers, letters, maps, books, tapes, photographs, films, sound recordings, data processing software, or other material, made or received pursuant to law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of official business of Port St. Lucie.

The City has the right to charge the actual cost of duplication, which means the cost of the material and supplies used to duplicate the public record. Port St. Lucie provides electronic copies for free as there is no cost to duplicate. A paper copy of any public record costs:

  • 15 cents per one-sided copy for duplicated copies of not more than 14 inches by 81/2 inches; or
  • 20 cents for each two-sided copy; or
  • $1 per copy for a certified copy of a public record; or
  • The actual cost of duplication of the public record.

Additionally, if the nature or volume of public records requested to be inspected or copied is such as to require extensive use of information technology resources or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance by personnel of the City, or both, the City may charge, in addition to the actual cost of duplication, a special service charge, which shall be reasonable and shall be based on the cost incurred for such extensive use of information technology resources or the labor cost of the personnel providing the service that is actually incurred by the City or attributable to the City for the clerical and supervisory assistance required, or both.

City Ordinances

The City Clerk's Office maintains the City Code book which is available to the public for reading or research during regular business hours.

Election Services

The City Clerk serves as the Election Qualifying Officer for City of Port St. Lucie municipal candidates, which includes the Mayor and Council seats.
