Internships
Coming January 2026!
The City of Port St. Lucie is proud to announce that it is updating its high school internship program!
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to:
- Students attending St. Lucie Public Schools or charter schools who are currently in their sophomore or junior year at the time of applying for the internship.
- Students who are 16 years or older.
- While all eligible students are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those who are not currently planning to attend college immediately after graduation.
What to expect
- Duration: Eight weeks during summer break, aligned with the St. Lucie Public Schools calendar.
- Pay: Interns will earn $15/hour and work 40 hours per week.
- Experience: Interns will be placed in one of the City’s departments and assigned meaningful projects, either one large project or several smaller ones.
- Celebration: At the end of the program, interns will participate in a graduation ceremony where they can invite family and friends. Before the ceremony, interns will showcase their projects and share their experiences with City staff and the public.
