The Port St. Lucie History Museum and Education Center, located at 2456 SE Westmoreland Blvd., sits within The Port District just south of the Botanical Gardens.

As a central hub for preserving and sharing the city’s story, the museum offers educational experiences, curated exhibits, a gift shop, meeting and office space, and community programming that highlight Port St. Lucie’s rich heritage.

About the Historic Peacock Lodge and House

To enhance this cultural destination, the City incorporated two important historic buildings into the site: the 1952 Peacock Lodge (2,611 sq ft) and the adjacent 1917 Peacock House (2,378 sq ft). Originally located in western Port St. Lucie, both buildings were relocated in 2018 with support from the Florida Department of Historical Resources. After the move, the buildings received major updates, including secured access, reinforced foundations, new shingle roofs, and refreshed exterior paint.

In 2022, the City completed a full refurbishment of the Historic Peacock Lodge, transforming it into the home of the Port St. Lucie History Museum and Education Center, operated by the Port St. Lucie Historical Society. Future restoration of the 1917 Peacock House is planned as part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program, further expanding the site’s role as a vibrant historical and educational resource for the community.
