Phase 2 Coming Soon!
Construction begins in January on the new Wilderness Trail. This project is expected to be completed by the Fall and will feature:
- A 2.1-mile, 10-foot-wide concrete trail perfect for walking, biking and immersing yourself in nature.
- A new restroom facility with a covered pavilion, picnic tables and a drinking fountain for added comfort and convenience.
- Enhanced landscaping with native and ornamental plants to create a beautiful, sustainable environment.
The Wilderness Trail will improve connectivity between The Saints, The Port and other scenic areas along the St. Lucie River, responding to residents’ requests for more hiking, walking and biking opportunities throughout the City.
This project reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to providing parks, green spaces and recreational amenities for all Port St. Lucie residents.
Phase 1 focused on removing invasive species to allow native plants and trees to thrive. These efforts have restored vital habitats for birds and wildlife, creating a healthier ecosystem.
