Phase 2 Coming Soon!

Construction on the new Wilderness Trail begins January 2026. Phase 2 is expected to be completed by Fall and will feature:

  • A new entrance sign welcoming visitors to the trail.
  • An information kiosk to help visitors navigate the area and learn more about local features.
  • A 2.1-mile-long, 10-foot-wide multimodal sidewalk suitable for walking, biking and enjoying the natural surroundings.
  • Wildlife educational signs and wildlife trail art to create an engaging, informative outdoor experience.
  • Benches placed along the trail for resting and enjoying the scenery.
  • A new restroom facility with an attached pavilion for added comfort and convenience.
  • Trash and recycling cans to support cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

The Wilderness Trail will enhance connectivity between The Saints Golf Course, The Port District and other scenic locations along the St. Lucie River, supporting residents’ interest in expanded opportunities for hiking, walking and biking throughout the City.

Phase 1 focused on removing invasive species to allow native plants and trees to thrive. These efforts restored important habitats for birds and other wildlife, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.

This project reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to providing parks, green spaces and recreational amenities for all Port St. Lucie residents.
