Strategic Plan

In Port St. Lucie, the Strategic Plan is more than just a document—it’s the foundation for how we serve our community. It guides our City team and aligns our work with the priorities of residents, the Mayor, and City Council.

Driven by our mission to provide exceptional services that enhance safety, beauty, and quality of life, we use strategic planning to address community needs and shape a stronger future. Our vision is to lead with innovation, keep residents at the center of decision-making, and create opportunities for all to thrive.

How We Plan

Originally developed in 2013, we update the Strategic Plan each year based on input from the National Community Survey, the Citizen Summit, and direct resident feedback. Using human-centered design, we identify new and updated strategic initiatives and key projects. These priorities are then reflected in the City’s annual budget to ensure the right resources are in place for implementation.

The Mayor and City Council track progress year-round using our City’s Strategic Planning System Roadmap(PDF, 531KB), keeping us focused on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
