About
On Sept. 9, 2021, the City celebrated the grand opening of a new regional transportation facility, which was made possible through the work of several agencies: St. Lucie County Transportation Planning Organization, Florida Department of Transportation District 4, City of Port St. Lucie, Florida Power and Light, St. Lucie County and Area Regional Transit and South Florida Commuter Services.
It features 162 free parking spaces, opportunities for carpooling, vanpooling and ride sharing, electric vehicle charging stations, a local bus stop for Area Regional Transit (ART) Route 5 and on-demand micro-transit connections and stops for regional bus services. A future connection to I-95 express public transportation route to West Palm Beach also is planned.

- From I-95, travel east on Gatlin Blvd.
- Turn south on Edgarce Street
- Travel to the end of Edgarce Street and turn right onto Hayworth Avenue.
- Then turn right into the parking lot.

How to use vehicle charging stations
Here's how to start using the FPL EVolution Power Electronics charging stations:
- Download the FPL EVolution app. available from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app will let you access the FPL EVolution charging points.
- Create an FPL EVolution account. It's free and easy to create an account. You will need to add a payment method to pay for charging at some locations.
- Open FPL EVolution app.
- Scan the QR code on the charger
- Select the connector that's right for your vehicle
- Select payment card (if applicable)
- Select charge button
Project History
- 2006: I-95/Gatlin Boulevard was identified as a potential site in the TPO's Park and Ride Study.
- 2010: The TPO's Premium Transit/Rail Corridor Study recommends express bus service on I-95.
- 2011: FDOT approaches TPO staff to identify a St. Lucie County terminus for service to replace the failed Palm Beach County to Martin County express bus route. Sites in Tradition and Gatlin are analyzed.
- 2012: The TPO hosts a workshop with FDOT, local transit partners and Palm Tran to discuss express bus service.
- 2013: FDOT conducts a Park and Ride Analysis which recommends the establishment of a park and ride lot and bus terminal located within the vicinity of I-95 and providing express bus service to Palm Beach.
- 2014: The name "Jobs Express Terminal" is coined in response to a Federal Ladders of Opportunity grant application submitted while St. Lucie County struggled to emerge from the recession.
- 2015 - 2017: Site selection, FDOT Work Program funding and property negotiations between FDOT and FPL.
- 2019 - 2021: Project design, construction, and project completion. Construction cost $2,027,816
- Sept. 9, 2021: New Park & Ride lot grand opening
